Water & Provenance
Every piece begins with a place.
Water is a defining element of Glacier Glittered. Selected pieces incorporate water connected to the landscape, occasion, or story that inspired the work. Depending on the collection or commission, that water may come from a documented natural source, a meaningful location, or water supplied by the client.
The water is used as an artistic and symbolic element in the creation process. It is not intended for consumption, and its inclusion does not imply ownership of, endorsement by, or affiliation with the place from which it originated.
Responsible Sourcing
Glacier Glittered is committed to respectful and responsible sourcing. Water used in our work is primarily obtained through established providers who represent their water as lawfully and responsibly sourced. In select circumstances, water may also be collected directly by Glacier Glittered from meaningful locations where collection is reasonably believed to be lawful, permitted, safe, and environmentally responsible. We do not intentionally collect from locations where removal is prohibited, restricted, unsafe, environmentally harmful, or disrespectful to protected or culturally sensitive places.
Client-Provided Water
For commissioned pieces, clients may provide water from a location meaningful to them. By providing water, the client represents that it was obtained lawfully and with any permission required for its collection, possession, transport, and use. Glacier Glittered cannot independently verify the origin, legality, purity, or composition of client-provided water.
Natural Variation
Natural water varies by source and may contain minerals or other naturally occurring material. The creative process may also alter its appearance as it is incorporated into the finished work. These variations are part of the character and provenance of a handcrafted Glacier Glittered piece and are not considered defects.
Provenance
When a specific water source is identified for a piece, Glacier Glittered records that source based on information and documentation supplied by the source provider, our own collection records, or information supplied by the client. Any provenance statement or Certificate of Authenticity describes the information available to Glacier Glittered at the time the piece is created; it is not a governmental certification, laboratory verification, or guarantee of geographic origin unless expressly stated otherwise.
A Note on Protected & Special Places
Collection rules and laws can vary by landowner, agency, jurisdiction, season, and location. National parks, protected lands, tribal lands, private property, and other managed areas may prohibit or restrict the removal of water or natural materials. Customers wishing to provide water from a special location are responsible for confirming applicable rules and obtaining any required permission before collection.
A place remembered. A moment preserved. A story sealed in shimmer.
